The Sea Hawk Air Team
Kodiak has always been our home. We’re proud to share its rugged coastlines, jagged mountains, remote beaches, and abundant wildlife with those who come to explore. Every flight is a chance to connect people with the island we love and to help ensure its wilderness endures for generations to come.

Wesley Dumm – Owner and Pilot
Growing up in a Kodiak commercial fishing family, Wesley began learning Kodiak’s weather and geography as a child while hiking, fishing, and hunting around the island. Wesley began flying in high school, and after completing an aviation degree at Montana State University in 2021, returned to Kodiak to fly for Vertigo Air. While there, he accumulated thousands of hours of experience flying bush aircraft. Wesley became the owner of Sea Hawk Air in 2026. He and his family have flown with Sea Hawk Air for decades. These experiences were part of what inspired both Wesley and his brother to become pilots. Wesley is excited to continue operating this air service that so many in Kodiak love and rely upon.

Sea Hawk History
Wesley became our owner and pilot in 2026. Sea Hawk Air has served Kodiak since 1987 under previous owners Jo Murphy and Rolan Ruoss. Their flying skill and service are legendary among Kodiak locals and visitors.
“Rolan and Jo highly recommend Wesley, he is an excellent pilot with an amazing amount of common sense. Born and raised on Kodiak Island, he has spent his whole life understanding water and air conditions. Paired with his hard work ethic and good judgement you can only feel confident with his flying skills.”
